Well Christmas is on it's way and winter is here so the photographing is what I want to do but that regulates me to shooting indoors or bundling up and getting out door, which is want I want to do.
It's been cloudy and cool but not cold yet, next week we are going down in the 20's and lower so that's going to be cold. Yesterday I wanted to get outdoors and was thinking about going to Zion NP but when I looked that way it was cloudy and on the weather it was going to stay that way all day, so looking down toward NV saw a few blue specks and looked promising, so drove down thru the Virgin River Gorge to a little recreation area in the gorge... here is some of what I came up with.
I was in hopes of getting some star shots but it started to get cold and my mind turned to food Ha!
so packed up, next time we will dress warmer and bring some food to keep me happy.
These aren't the best but they are giving me some learning to do since taking a year and a half off and not photographing its nice to be back but it's humbling ...
One that I worked on tonight after work that looks dark on my computer but in lightroom looked fine!
So it's been a long time since I've posted a new blog but I might start back to doing it regularly, I've started a new idea with night photography with emphasis on low light, Stars, milky way and any thing that is in that general idea. So to start off with I'll show one ...
One of my first try's as a astrophotographer ... not bad can't wait till I get out with my new camera to do more of this type of photo taking ...
The funny story about this one is that I didn't light up this rock and was really disappointed when a car came along and accidentally shined his lights on it, but to my surprise it turned out to be a nice addition to the photo....
This sunflower was sitting on the side of the road and I just could not pass it by and I'm glad I didn't it's a beauty just waiting to be photographed ...
Night shot of good old St George, Ut .... love the twinkling lights on the street lamps and the tail light trails....
Just a shot of the center of the Milky Way with a 50mm lens much different than with a 21mm lens
Kolob Reserviour Road
Another there was a field of safflowers here that don't show to well but they do on my computer..
Sandhollow State park night time.... as if you couldn't tell
The Best I could do with the super moon it was cloudy and didn't last long here in St George....
Evening shot in Snow Canyon State Park ... I like this but it's one of the first shots with my new camera and it's probably to saturated but .... I like it...
Well enough till I get out more it's winter and it's cold at night not as cold as some places but when your not use to it or don't even want to be in it it's cold
Funny I haven't posted in almost two years and now I just picked up a new camera so I'm back. I'll have to get use to writing again ... I know I'm just a rambler but that's the way I'm.
The new camera is fun its small and I'm going to use it in a photojournalist way, try to take photos that make you wonder what is going on or funny, just not doing landscapes any more ... my niece has two children that are fun to take photo's of but they move fast so have to take many to get a few.
Well, here are a few that I have taken of the children first cuss I think there cute .. and second because there my brothers grandchildren and that's cool ...
This is Ben
Welcome to this world
Told you he was cute! One more ...
This is Brexton
My fav, but he's older
Brex like to wear hats like his uncle and dad do, he likes to have his picture taken but wait a few years and it might change a bit since his mother is like me and take many photos and all the time.
Grampa and Ben
Don't know what there looking at but that's ok!
Now it's only fair for me to post a couple of the Grama with the grandchildren don't you think? Oh! Well I do so here goes ....
Joann, Jen, Ben and Brexton
Well that's all folks this day is about done and so I'm I.
I lived in Park City,Utah. I've been an avid climber, skier, hiker, Photographer and yoga, participant.
Travel much to do all of these activities and want to continue to do more traveling.
Now that I've finished my travels of the Oregon Coastline and found that I'm not to fond of the rain but love the Ocean and surf. I'm now settled down in Southern Utah and traveling the four corners area.
The warmth of the desert is a welcoming feeling for my wet bones, I love it here and believe I'll stay for awhile.
The photographing here is to say the least more fun and really plentiful as you can see if you take a look at my site.
Take care and get yourself out of the indoors and out into this great big beautiful world we live in.
